Amman, Jordan: As entries continue to pour in from across the world for Jordan’s FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) event, organisers have published on line an extensive guide to everything you need to know about the April 1-3 event.
The ‘Rally Guide Two’ is an essential one-stop document for anyone requiring information on the Jordan Rally, which will host the WRC for the second time following a stunning debut in 2008.
“The team has pulled together an extensive document that provides everything you need to know about the Jordan Rally, from media information to details on the itinerary,” said Khaled Zakaria, Jordan Rally Clerk of the Course. “It is both comprehensive and informative and it has been compiled to the highest professional standards to send a clear message that Jordan is on course to deliver a dazzling rally.”
The entry book has been open for several weeks and the early signs are that the 2010 field will surpass the numbers that took part in 2008. The entry will be boosted by a large number of local and regional drivers who will take part in the Middle East Rally Championship segment of the weekend.
Jordan made the decision to incorporate both rounds in order to give Arab drivers the opportunity to rub shoulders with the world’s best and while the WRC event will get into gear on the 1st with three days of competition, the regional drivers will tackle the same routes on Day two and three only.
The scenario adds up to what is expected to be one of the region’s social and sporting events of the year as Jordan underlines its status as one of the world’s great rallies.
With 348 kms of competitive stages, few rallies in the world offer the type of diversity on offer at Jordan with the sporting element complimented by incredible backdrops like the Roman provincial city of Jerash and the world-renowned Dead Sea, where the headquarters and service park are located.
Rally Guide Two can be viewed and downloaded from the official web site on www.jordanrally.com. There is also an official FIA WRC Jordan Rally 2010 Facebook Group which is approaching a membership of 1,500.
